El Tuito to Tomatalan, 46km
Quiet and smooth back roads. Staying at Hotel Mision San Miguel with AC, hot water, pool, 450p ($33). We have seen several Virgin of Guadalupe parades leading up to the actual feast day on 12/13. Here the parades were outside my hotel window at 5PM & again at 5AM. Dinner overlooking the mercado (market) was v. good. It is raining again overnight.

Tomatalin to Punta Perula, 58km
Great beach restaurant was our first stop on arrival. Talked with some gringos and some French visitors who were curious about our trip. Swam in the ocean which was warm and relatively clear, my Pentax W20 waterproof camera which I have taken underwater numerous times decided to quit...for good...somehow water got inside. All pix after this will be via iPhone. Hotel is v.nice but not on beach, 450p. Washed bikes, hung laundry out to dry...finally, since the rain is over. Dinner back at the same beach restaurant, sunset, found wifi Internet nearby. Quiet overnight. Elaborate Xmas decorations in some places.
